ABOUT SWEET SOAPS

Sweet Soaps is a small independent business.  Our products are handcrafted using only the highest quality ingredients, 100% natural, vegan-friendly, and naturally fragranced.

Our range of soaps, bath salts, bath tea and lotion bars have been uniquely formulated with the health of our body and planet in mind.

SWEET SOAPS PRODUCTS

Sweet Soaps rejects the use of any plastic packaging for our soaps and all beauty products.  Where possible we use recyclable, sustainable materials, combined with fully eco-friendly accessories to pair with the skin loving products, to maintain a zero tolerance to waste, so you can shop with us conscience free.

Sweet Soaps are a delectable treat for the senses, and not to be mistaken for sweets and confectionary!

FORMULATION

Sweet Soaps are handmade using unique skin loving recipes containing a blend of oils such as shea butter, cocoa butter, coconut oil, castor oil and pomace olive oil. This formula gives the soaps a luxurious rich lather that is bubbly, nourishing and moisturise enriching. 

​

The soaps are scented with cruelty-free fragrance oils and pure essential oils, 100% vegan-friendly mica powder, natural clays and herbs.

THE PROCESS

The soaps are made in small batches using a cold process method, which requires 4-6 weeks cure time to ensure all the water has dissolved, leaving us with a beautiful hard bar of soap, that is also gentle on the skin. All products are handcrafted by myself - Joël.

MY STORY

Hi, I'm Joël! I am the Founding Director of Sweet Soaps

​

I am a profoundly deaf, bilingual British Sign Language and English user.

I have a part-time employment as a Wellbeing Assistant.   Being the founder and creator of my own business: Sweet Soaps, means I use every single free moment outside of my busy workday to indulge my love for formulating and making handmade soaps and a wide range of beauty products. 

​

I discovered the artisan of handmade soap during Covid lockdown two in October 2020.  At this time, I lost my dream career as an Accountant and I was sadly, like many of us, made redundant. Through this difficult period, I searched for creative projects to keep me busy. 

​

I found some soap bar recipes and became a self-taught creator of tasty soaps. 

I started my journey by watching Youtube and reading BrambleBerry for helpful tips.  I ordered supplies so that I might experiment myself.  I fell in love and became addicted with the process of creating something new from scratch that can be used by myself and also shared with people that I love. From there the way to soapmaking was very quick and I became more confident in my trade.  Then came the bath tea, bath salts and lotion bars, which are a hit with my family and friends.  They have become a great selling success in my local markets when the lockdown rules where relaxed.

I was recently nominated as a Young Entrepreneur of the Year, with the RISE awards. My proudest achievement is that I WON! I am now looking to expand and grow my business and support and encourage other diverse, young entrepreneurs like me to become successful! 

​

I formulate my own simple recipes, each one crafted with the self-care, and a gift of kindness to your body and mind, and lots of extra love and care for the environment. 

​

My products are all 100% handmade, using only high-quality ingredients that lovingly compliment the senses, and own a piece of my heart. 

​
